What follows is a very raw collection of information I am gathering on the spam application for HackEx. I created a brand new account and set it up to run some tests. All tests are done using the 1G network and without any other network processes running.
Table of spam sizes:
Upload Speed -> 50kbps
| Spam Level | Upload Time (s) | Size (kb) [Upload speed * Upload time] |
| 1 | 100 | 5000 |
| 2 | 800 | 40000 |
| 3 | 2700 | 135000 |
| 4 | 6400 | 320000 |
| 5 | 12500 | 625000 |
| 6 | 21600 | 1080000 |
| 7 | 34300 | 1715000 |
| 8 | 51200 | 2560000 |
| 9 | 72900 | 3645000 |
| 10 | 100000 | 5000000 |
| 15 | 337500 | 16875000 |
| 20 | 800000 | 40000000 -> 3645 GB |
Formula for calculating upload time for 1G network:
uploadTime_n = 100 * n^3
About: Where 'n' is the level of spam you are trying to upload. Please note that this is to calculate ONLY the upload times for the 1G network.
Graph of upload time vs spam level:
This is a graph of the time (in hours) it takes to upload a spam at the specified level.
Observerations
As you can see, the time taken to upload the spamware quickly goes out of proportion. This is because the size of the file increases at an exponential rate. The formula to calculate the size is listed below:
size_n = 5000 * n^3
About: Where 'n' = the level of spam you are trying to calculate the size for. The result is in kilobytes.
Table of the available networks and their speed difference
| Network | Upload Speed (kb) | Difference in speed |
| 1G | 50 | Default |
| 1GS | 100 | +50 |
| 2G | 150 | +50 |
| 2GS | 200 | +50 |
| 3G | 400 | +200 |
| 3GS | 600 | +200 |
| 4G | 1600 | +1000 |
| 4GS | 2000 | +400 |
| 5G | 2800 | +800 |
Observations
This was interesting for me. As there is a rather radical increase of speed when upgrading to the 4G network.
